Manage Windows XP Taskbar

Windows Taskbar is the horizontal bar at bottom of the desktop.
It displays open applications, computer clock, date, and the quick launch.
Manage the Taskbar Quick Launch
Show or Hide The Quick Launch:
Right click the Taskbar.
Go to Toolbars and select the Quick Launch to show or deselect to hide.
Toolbars
Toolbar consists items that can be displayed on the Taskbar.
Showing or hiding a Toolbar item such as Quick Launch are all same.
Right click the Taskbar, go to Toolbars, and put a check mark on the item to display or take the check mark out to hide.
The following are the other Toolbar items:
Address shows the address bar on the windows Taskbar
Windows Media Player shows the Windows Media Player bar on the windows Taskbar
Links shows your Internet links on the windows Taskbar
Desktop shows the desktop icons on the windows Taskbar
Quick Launch shows the shortcuts in your Quick Launch folder on the windows Taskbar
Other Tasks
Lock the Taskbar will freeze the Taskbar to disallow dragging or resizing.
Task Manger will open the Task Manager
Properties will show the Taskbar properties
Manage the Taskbar Properties
To access the Taskbar properties: Right click the Taskbar:
If Lock the Taskbar is checked, you will not be able to drag or resize your Taskbar
if Auto-hide the Taskbar is checked, that will automatically hide your Taskbar and only show it once you move your mouse over it
if Keep the Taskbar on top of other windows checked, that will show the Taskbar all the time.
If unchecked, your Taskbar will hide behind running programs.
if Group similar Taskbar buttons is checked, that will group together running similar programs
Show Quick Launch and Show the Clock will show the Quick Launch and the Clock on the Taskbar
Hide inactive icons will hide any inactive short on your Taskbar beside the clock
